Picton residents charged after drug investigation

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) stopped a vehicle in Belleville, on Wednesday Jan. 13, 2021 as a result of an ongoing drug investigation.
As a result of the investigation, officers located and seized a quantity of cocaine, hydromorphone, four cellular phones, a collection of Canadian currency and a variety of other drug paraphernalia, according to a release from OPP dated Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021.
OPP have charged Justin Benson, age 38 from Picton, Donald Duffy, age 42 from Picton, Michael Marks, age 38 from Picton and Dorothy Spiers, age 47 from Picton with the following offences:
- Possession of a schedule one substance – three counts
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused individuals were released on an undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton in March 2021.
