Pick up truck collision in Addington Highlands result of impaired driving

Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at a residence off of Highway 41 in Addington Highlands Township at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, where a pickup truck had collided with an unattended car.

According to a report from OPP, dated Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, police attended and determined that the driver of the pickup truck was showing signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for processing.

L&A County OPP have charged Marvin Wilson, age 44, of Tweed with:

  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drug, and
  • Fail to comply with demand.

Wilson was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in September 2021. His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Wilson will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
