Pedestrian severely injured following collision in University District

A male in his 20s was severely injured after being hit by a truck hauling a mobile catering trailer through the University District on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022.
The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle on Brock Street, about 50 metres west of Alfred Street, at around 8:09 p.m. The incident occurred amid massive crowds and several large nuisance parties throughout the University District for what is colloquially known as “Faux-Coming Weekend” or “FoCo Weekend”.

The patient was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Kingston Police officers on scene. His current condition remains unknown.
Brock Street was closed for several hours, until approximately 1:15 a.m., for a comprehensive collision reconstruction investigation.
