PEC driver facing multiple charges after collision with tree

A Prince Edward County driver is facing multiple charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision on County Road 22 earlier this week.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, officers from the Prince Edward County Detachment of the OPP were notified by Hastings Quinte Paramedic Service of the single-vehicle collision on County Road 22 near Airport Lane. According to a release from the OPP, officers arrived at the scene and observed that a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver was treated by paramedics on scene, OPP stated. As a result of further investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Frederick Revoy, age 68 from Prince Edward County, was charged with the following offences:

  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Driving while under suspension

The OPP noted that Revoy was released and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in June 2023. Their vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days.

“Impaired driving impacts us all, do your part and plan a safe ride home,” OPP said.
