Provincial Police in Tyendinaga township spent some unexpected time on the golf course recently. On the evening of Wednesday, Apr. 28, 2021, officers with the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on a golf course located off of Old Highway 2 in Tyendinaga Township.

Once police arrived on the scene, a driver and passenger were found to be sleeping inside a running vehicle. Police say their investigation found that the driver was showing signs of impairment and police located and seized suspected fentanyl, credit cards and personal documents.

“Both the driver and passenger were subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for processing,” an OPP press release stated.

Police have charged 32-year-old Lisa Blommesteyn of Brockville with one count of driving while impaired and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Also charged is Devyn Stewart-Gravel of Brockville who faces one count of possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.

Both are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.

The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The driver will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
