OPP seize drugs and firearms from residence in Greater Napanee

Two men are charged after firearms and illegal drugs were seized from a residence and vehicle in Greater Napanee.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment initiated a drug trafficking investigation which led to a search warrant being issued.
According to a report from OPP dated Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, members of the Street Crime Unit, assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue unit (TRU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the L&A County OPP executed the search warrant at a residence on Church Street in Greater Napanee on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020. Officers seized a quantity of suspected Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Fentanyl residue along with a shotgun, replica handgun, Canadian currency, other weapons, and drug paraphernalia. OPP say two persons were arrested at the scene.
Michael Joseph Coleman, age 34, of Greater Napanee and Nick Smith, age 26 of Deseronto are charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – three counts,
- Careless storage of a firearm,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm, and
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose
Both accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Greater Napanee in January 2021.
