OPP seek information video footage after attempted bank robbery in Amherstview

After a heavy police presence around Amherstview on Monday, Mar. 13, 2023, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are appealing to the public for assistance in their investigation.
As previously reported by Kingstonist, olice descended on the Amherstview area of Loyalist Township just before noon on Monday, responding to a reported attempted robbery at the Bank of Montreal (BMO) location on Speers Boulevard. One person, a white male wearing all black, fled the scene on foot. The Lennox and Addington (L&A) Detachment of the OPP released images from the bank’s surveillance footage the same day, noting the suspect was last seen entering the driver’s side of a white sedan. No weapons were reportedly seen during the incident, nor were any injuries sustained.
Officers, assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, remained in the area searching for the suspect for several hours. Now, the OPP are sharing further details and requesting public assistance in their investigation.

After reviewing surveillance footage further, police believe the white, four-door sedan to be a Nissan or Toyota. Investigating officers are looking for any video footage members of the public may have of this vehicle in the Amherstview area between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 13, 2023. Police are requesting anyone in the area who has security or dashboard camera footage to review it to see if the vehicle can be spotted.
