OPP seek information after individual injured during assault, robbery in Napanee

The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an assault which was reported in Napanee late last week.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, officers, along with Lennox and Addington County Paramedics, responded to a call at an area on East Street at Dundas Street. According to a release from the OPP, the victim was described as being approached from behind and assaulted by two unknown males. Both suspects fled from the scene with an amount of cash before police arrived. The OPP said that one of the males may have been wearing a grey hoodie.

“It’s not known if this was a targeted or random incident,” the L&A OPP said, adding that the OPP is reminding everyone to be aware of their surroundings.

“If you observe someone or something suspicious, call the police.”

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the L&A County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those who wish to remain anonymous may submit a tip to Crime Stoppers at www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
