OPP seek assistance to identify male who approached children in Tyendinaga Township

Officers from the Lennox & Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest after police responded to a report of a male that had approached children in a schoolyard.
According to a release from the OPP, just before noon on Thursday, Jun. 22, 2023, a male was observed talking to children in a schoolyard on Shannonville Road in Tyendinaga Township. The male reportedly asked for directions and the whereabouts of the teachers, then fled quickly when staff approached to investigate.

Police described the male as approximately 50 years of age, with grey/white hair, standing 5’9″/5’10” tall. He had a slim build, possibly spoke with an accent, and was wearing a T-shirt and shorts. The male left travelling northbound on Shannonville Road in a dark-coloured SUV.
