OPP request public assistance after assault in Battersea

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Frontenac Detachment is asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle and person of interest involved in an assault in the village of Battersea.

At approximately 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, officers responded to an assault in progress. Investigators believe the male, aged 30 years, was assaulted by one or more unknown persons in the village of Battersea. The male sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police feel that this is an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to public safety, according to a release from the OPP, dated Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.

The vehicle was described as a small dark-coloured car with a loud exhaust, green under glow, and white plastic covering the back left window. 

Police would like to hear from any witnesses that may have any information related to this occurrence. Those with information are asked to call South Frontenac OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
