OPP report fatal boating collision in South Frontenac

A collision between two boats in South Frontenac Township has resulted in a fatality, according to the Frontenac County Ontario Provincial Police.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, officers from the Frontenac Detachment responded to a report of a two-vessel collision on Bob’s Lake shortly before 7 p.m., according to the OPP.

As a result of the collision, two passengers were transported to hospital. Siyeng Iv, 65, of Stoney Creek, Ont. was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The second passenger was assessed as a precaution, the OPP said.

The OPP Vessel Investigator attended the scene, and the collision remains under investigation.
