OPP recover stolen vehicle and make two arrests in Napanee

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers located a stolen vehicle in Greater Napanee and arrested the vehicle’s two occupants, after a pursuit.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle that had exited Highway 401 Westbound at Palace Road in Greater Napanee, according to a release from the OPP, dated Tuesday, Jan, 12, 2021.
L&A County OPP officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Bridge Street West in Greater Napanee, according to the release. OPP say the vehicle and the two occupants failed to stop and fled in the vehicle. Police located the vehicle, abandoned on Slash Road. According to the release, the OPP Canine Unit and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called in. Police located and arrested two individuals.
As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP has charged Michael Joseph Barry, age 54 of Kingston, with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Flight from Police
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Fail to comply with undertaking
Barry was also charged with Driving Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 12, 2021.
Also charged is Terry Brick, age 47, of no fixed address, with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.
Brick was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee in March 2021.
