OPP make additional arrest in connection with June 2019 death

The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has made an additional arrest in connection with a June 2019 opioid-related death.
According to a report from OPP, dated Monday, Nov. 9, 2020, officers of the OPP, with the assistance of the Tyendinaga Mohawk Police Service, commenced an investigation on June 29, 2019, into the death of a 38-year old female at a home on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
A 39-year-old male from Belleville was arrested on drug-related charges at the time. The investigation by the L&A County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has been ongoing.
On Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, as a result of the current investigation, search warrants were executed at two residences in the Belleville area and one male was arrested, according to OPP.
Rorrie John MacDonald, age 56, of Belleville has been charged under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act with:
- Trafficking cocaine
- Possession for the purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville in December 2020.
