OPP locate missing child at Gould Lake Conservation Area

On Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, the South Frontenac detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Gould Lake Conservation Area after a child went missing.

According to police, shortly after 12 p.m., a 13-year-old child with autism had wandered off in the conservation park in South Frontenac Township, and could not be located. The South Frontenac OPP responded, and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, and Helicopter were involved in the search, which lasted over the course of a few hours. Multiple residents of the area reported a very large OPP presence from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Today, Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, the OPP have confirmed that the child was located, unharmed.
