OPP: Kingston man arrested for impaired driving in Battersea

The investigation into a collision in Battersea resulted in the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laying impaired driving charges against a man from Kingston.

The Frontenac Detachment of the OPP received a call at 2:08 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 3, 2019, regarding a single motor vehicle collision on Battersea Road. An officer arrived on the scene at 2:23 a.m. and spoke to the male driver of the vehicle involved.

As a result of the ensuing investigation, Stephen Baker, a 27-year-old male from Kingston, was charged with impaired driving, and having over 80 mg of alcohol in his blood while operating a motor vehicle.

As a result of the charges, Baker’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days. Baker will be responsible for all related fees and fines.

Baker was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on Thursday, Apr. 11, 2019.
