OPP issue arrest warrant for Brighton man after serious assault in Quinte West

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has issued a warrant for the arrest of a man from Brighton follow the report of an assault.
Officers with the Quinte West OPP were called to a hotel on Dundas Street East at approximately 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jun. 10. 2023. An employee at the hotel was transported to hospital by ambulance after the assault, and the ensuing investigation led to the identification of the person accused of the assault, the OPP said in a press release on Tuesday, Jun. 13, 2023.
As a result, a warrant of arrest has been issued for 44-year-old Nicholas O’Doherty of Brighton, who is wanted for:
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Mischief under $5,000
Anyone with information regarding the assault or the whereabouts of O’Doherty is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8677 (TIPS), where tipsters may be eligible to receive a cash reward, the OPP said.
