OPP investigating suspicious Deseronto death

The Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the OPP is investigating the death of a woman in Deseronto.

On June 9, 2020, shortly after 9:30 p.m. OPP officers responded to an apartment on Main Street, where a 75-year-old woman had been located deceased by a local resident. Hastings-Quinte paramedics also responded to the scene.

A post mortem examination has been performed, but further testing will be conducted with the assistance of Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-FPS).

The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing with members of the L&A County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
