OPP investigating suspicious death on Highway 15

A deceased male was located at a residence on Highway 15 in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them immediately.
The suspicious death was discovered at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. According to a release from OPP, officers responded to a 911 call at the residence and located the deceased male. Two other people sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital by Leeds & Grenville County Paramedics.
The investigation is in the early stages and the identity of the deceased person is not being released at this time, OPP said in the release.
A 36 year old male of no fixed address was taken in to custody at the scene. Police advise the victims were known to the accused and there is no concern for public safety.
According to the release, the investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Leeds County Crime Unit and East Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS). Further details will be provided when they become available, and Kingstonist will continue to follow this story.
