OPP investigating slashed tires, vehicle mischief in Napanee

Over the last week, the Lennox & Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has received reports of mischief to vehicles in Napanee.
According to a release from the OPP, officers have received multiple reports of tires being slashed on vehicles, as well as other reports of varying damage to vehicles that may be related. “It is believed there may be further occurrences that have not been reported to police,” OPP stated.
Officers believe these incidents may have occurred sometime during the night on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, according to the release.
The OPP provided reminders to vehicle owners of some ways to reduce their chances of victimization:
- Keep your vehicle locked at all times with the alarm system activated if available;
- Park in a garage if available, or a well-lit area;
- Install exterior lights and cameras; and
- Always inspect your vehicle for damage before hitting the road.
The L&A County OPP is asking that anyone with video footage to check their cameras for suspicious activity.
