UPDATE: OPP investigating serious collision in Loyalist Township

According to a release from the Lennox and Addington OPP the driver of the car involved in the collision has passed away.
Renee Fawcett, 55, of Bath, Ont. succumbed to the injuries sustained in the collision, the OPP said on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020.

County Road 7 in Loyalist Township has been closed following a serious collision as members of the Lennox and Addington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate.
The collision occurred on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, just after 9:30 a.m. The OPP as well as other emergency crews responded to the collision, which took place on County Road 7 near Withers Road, just south of Highway 2.
L&A County OPP and the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) team closed County Road 7 for several hours on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020 to investigate the collision. OPP say a northbound car and southbound pickup truck collided in the southbound lane. Both drivers were taken to hospital by Lennox and Addington County Paramedics.
The driver of the pickup truck was treated and released from hospital. The driver of the car remains in hospital with life threatening injuries. The road re-opened later in the day and the investigation is ongoing.
