OPP investigating following fatal collision on Highway 15

A collision on Highway 15 near Burnt Hills Road in Seeley’s Bay claimed the life of one person, according to police.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, Kingston Fire and Rescue, the Frontenac County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and Frontenac Paramedics responded to calls regarding a fully involved vehicle fire on Highway 15 near Burnt Hills Road. Police on scene confirmed that at least one person had passed away as a result of the incident which, according to Kingston Fire and Rescue, involved a collision.

Highway 15 was closed between Main Street in Seeley’s Bay and Seabrooke Road as a result, while police carried out on-scene investigations.

Kingstonist inquired with Kingston Fire & Rescue and the Frontenac OPP in the morning the following day. Just before 6 p.m., the OPP confirmed the fatality and clarified that four vehicles were involved in the collision.

“As a result, a 39 year old from Leeds County was pronounced deceased,” the OPP said in a press release.

“The investigation remains ongoing with the assistance from Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionists.”
