OPP investigating fatal collision in Tyendinaga

Casey Road in Tyedinaga Township was closed for several hours on Sunday, Jun. 20, 2021, while Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a collision that claimed the life of one man.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on that same date, officers of the Lennox & Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the OPP along with other emergency crews responded to the single vehicle collision on Casey Road west of Shannonville Road.

L&A County OPP and the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) team closed Casey Road for several hours to investigate the collision. According to a release from OPP, the vehicle was traveling on Casey Road when it lost control, rolling and coming to rest in the ditch.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene and OPP said he has been identified as Robert Cole McFarlane, age 28 of Tyendinaga Township. The road re-opened later that day and the investigation is ongoing.
