UPDATE – Deceased identified: OPP investigating fatal collision in Shannonville

UPDATE (Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022):

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has released the identity of a driver who was killed after a single vehicle collision on Queen Street in Shannonville on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.

Zachary Loft, 25 years old, of Shannonville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist are assisting with the collision, which remains under investigation at this time.

A driver lost their life after a single vehicle collision in Shannonville early in the morning of Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.

Just before 4 a.m. on that date, officers from the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the scene of the motor vehicle collision on Queen Street in Shannonville.

According to a release from the OPP, the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identification of the deceased is being withheld pending notification to the family, OPP said. 

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist are assisting with the collision, according to the release, which remains under investigation at this time.
