OPP investigating fatal 401 collision near Kingston

All lanes of Highway 401 have now been re-opened at the scene of a fatal crash near Kingston and the four vehicles that were involved, a tractor trailer, an SUV, a pick-up truck and a passenger car have been removed.

The Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing to investigate the multi-vehicle collision that happened at around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 13, 2021.

One person involved is confirmed deceased and another person was transported to hospital with serious injuries, say OPP.

Traffic Collision Investigators were on scene and both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the 401 were closed between Montreal Street and Highway 15 until about 2 p.m. for the purposes of the investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Brady Perkins, age 20, of the city of Kingston. A 47-year-old male remains in hospital with serious injuries. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
