OPP investigating after collision in Tyendinaga sends two people to hospital

The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Tyendinaga Township.

The collision occurred on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, on Old Highway 2 between Miltown Road and Wyman Road. The incident involved an SUV, which had been travelling eastbound on Old Highway 2, and a sedan, which had been travelling westbound on Old Highway 2, according to police. Paramedic Services, the Tyendinaga Fire Department, and the L&A OPP were dispatched to the collision just before 3:30 p.m.

“Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles by the Tyendinaga Township Fire Department,” the OPP said in a press release the following day, noting that each vehicle involved was solely occupied by a driver.

“Once both drivers were freed from their vehicles, they were transported by Paramedic Services to the hospital with major injuries.”

Police closed down a stretch of Old Highway 2 as they carried out on-scene investigation, and was later reopened on the night of Thursday, Nov. 7, 2023. The investigation into the collision, the L&A OPP said, and more details will be released “when accurate and confirmed information becomes available.”
