OPP investigate fatal ATV collision in Central Frontenac Township

A single vehicle collision in Central Frontenac Township claimed the life of the lone individual driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

At approximately 2:35 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, officers from the Frontenac County Detachment of the OPP, Central Frontenac Fire and Rescue, and Frontenac Paramedic Services responded to the incident on Arden Road. The driver of the ATV was assisted by Frontenac Paramedics, however, was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. The name of the deceased driver is not being released at this time, the OPP said in a press release on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022.

According to police, Arden Road in the area of Horseshoe Lane was closed for several hours, as the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the investigation. The roadway was reopened by the following day.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the OPP are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam video footage to contact the Frontenac OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122. The OPP indicated that updates on this investigation will be provided when they become available.
