OPP charge two individuals with impaired driving on same day

Members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were busy keeping area roads safe on Thursday, Jul 28, 2022, and two individuals are now facing impaired driving charges as a result.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers were on general patrol when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 401 eastbound in Napanee, according to a release from the OPP.
Officers conducted a traffic stop, and, as part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered. OPP said that the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result, Yougdo Jo, 34 years old, of North York, Ontario, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
That same night, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a vehicle entered a RIDE program being conducted by officers on Deseronto Road, OPP said.
As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing, according to the release.
As a result, Kyle Jackson, 33 years old, of Ottawa, Ontario was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date. Their licences were suspended for 90 days, and vehicles were impounded for seven days. They will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
