Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County Crime Unit have laid charges in Picton, Ontario following an investigation in connection to sexual offences, according to a release from OPP dated Monday, Feb. 1, 2021.
On that same date, OPP arrested an individual after receiving information regarding allegations of sexual offences. According to the release, as a result of a continuing investigation OPP have charged Michael Anstis, age 30, from Prince Edward County with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Sexual assault – two counts
- Overcome resistance by administering or attempting to administer a drug
- Forcible confinement
- Criminal harassment- threatening conduct
- Fail to comply with undertaking
The accused was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice by video in Belleville on February 2, 2021.
