OPP charge Napanee man with impaired driving

A Napanee driver is facing impaired driving charges after members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint in Stone Mills Township over the weekend.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jun. 18, 2022, officers from the L&A County OPP Detachment responded to the traffic complaint on County Road 27 in Stone Mills Township.

According to a release from the OPP, officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver. As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing, OPP said.

Jeremy Chalk, 33 years old, of Napanee, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Chalk was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in July 2022. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Chalk will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
