OPP charge impaired driver after single vehicle collision

No injuries were reported after a single vehicle collision on Holmes Road earlier this week.
The Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges after the single vehicle collision in South Frontenac Township.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, officers responded to a report of collision on Holmes Road, between Latimer and Davidson Roads, according to a report from OPP dated Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2020. A car had left the roadway and struck a tree. Officers say they located the vehicle in the ditch, but there was no sign of the driver.
An individual later arrived at the scene, indicating she was the driver, according to OPP. An Approved Screening Device was utilized and the individual was arrested and transported to the Frontenac Detachment for further testing.
Katie Jackson, age 27 of South Frontenac Township has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was release from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston in December 2020. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded. Jackson will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
