OPP arrest break and enter suspects, seize drugs

Officers from the Frontenac detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a new home construction site on Camden Portland Boundary Road, in South Frontenac Township, on Saturday, Jul. 16, 2022, shortly before 6:30 a.m.

OPP said that officers located a vehicle in the area that had been reported by witnesses to have been at the construction site. “As a result of the investigation, Christopher Jeffery, age 47 and Jamie Cassibo, age 40, were arrested and charged,” said OPP in a release.

According to OPP, Jeffery was charged with:

Break and Enter, Section 348(1) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Theft Under $5,000 dollars, Section 334(b) CCC
Possession of property obtained by crime, Section 354(1)(a)

Cassibo was charged with:

Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking X3 Section 5(2) Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 Section 354(1)(a) CCC
Personation with intent to avoid arrest Section 403(1)(d)

OPP said that both individuals were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston to answer to the charges.
