What’s open, closed and happening for Family Day long weekend 2021

Here we are on the other side of a six week lockdown, just in time for the Family Day weekend. While we are still urged to stay safe and avoid unnecessary trips out and about, in KFL&A businesses are reopening, and a sense of relief is spreading across the region.

City of Kingston offices, facilities and services:

Administrative offices, including housing and social services on Montreal Street and Provincial Offences, are closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro are closed Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. In the event of a utility emergency, such as a gas smell, power outage or a water main break, call Utilities Kingston/Kingston Hydro’s 24-hour number at 613-546-1181. (Hydro One electricity customers in City west and east can call 1-800-434-1235. Union Gas customers can call 1-877-969-0999). Remember: the government will continue to hold electricity prices to the fixed rate of 8.5 cents per kilowatt-hour. This lower rate is available 24 hours per day, seven days a week for Time-Of-Use and tiered customers, until the end of the day Feb. 22, 2021.

All branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library will be closed on Sunday, Feb. 14 and Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

INVISTA Centre is open Monday Feb 15, 2021, from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. with COVID-19 precautions in place. Visit the City website for Family Day recreation details.

Artillery Park Aquatic Centre is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb 15, 2021 with COVID-19 precautions in place. The following activities are being offered on Family Day (Vicki Keith Pool = VKP, Leisure Pool = LP):

• 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. – Lane Swim (VKP) and Older Adult Swim (LP)
• 12 – 1 p.m. – Lane Swim (VKP) and Family Swim (LP)
• 2 – 3 p.m. – Lane Swim (VKP) and Parents +Tots Swim (LP)
• 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. – Leisure Swim (both pools)
• 5 – 6 p.m. – Leisure Swim (both pools)
• 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. – Lane Swim (VKP) and Family Swim (LP)

Rideau Heights Community Centre is closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. The Community Centre reopens on Feb. 16 and the Library reopens on Feb. 19.

Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning is closed Monday, Feb 15, 2021. Find virtual events and programs at www.tettcentre.org.

Kingston Area Recycling Centre is closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

Grand Theatre Box Office is closed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Find virtual events at www.kingstongrand.ca

Kingston Transit bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. Please see CityofKingston.ca/residents/transit/service-alerts for COVID-19-related service changes.

Kingston Access Services will operate with limited service on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. Call 613-542-2512 for information.

Green Bin, garbage and recycling: No collection on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. Collection occurs the day after your regular pick-up day this week. Walmart is closed Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

Costco is closed Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

The Dollarama in the Frontenac Mall will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. Call other stores in the mall to find out if they are open.

Both Staples locations are closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

Both Loblaws locations are closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

Both No Frills locations are closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

All Metro locations are closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.

All Food Basics locations are closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021.
