Ontario Hockey League release 2021-22 regular season schedule

The Ontario Hockey League and the Kingston Frontenacs have released their 2021-22 regular season schedule.
The season starts on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, with three games: Peterborough at North Bay, Barrie at Niagara and Sarnia at Windsor.
The Frontenacs open their season the following night as they host the Ottawa 67’s at the Leon’s Centre. It will be a busy opening weekend for the Fronts as they host Mississauga the following evening before travelling to the nations capital for a return match with the 67’s on Thanksgiving Sunday.
The Frontenacs will play a full 68 game regular schedule however they will not be playing any teams from the western conference in order to minimize travel. As a result they will play Peterborough, Oshawa and Ottawa twelve times as opposed to the usual eight games.
The OHL will play 80 per cent of its games between Thursdays and Sundays with Fridays being the busiest nights. The final day of the regular season will be Sunday, Apr. 3, 2022.
The Fronts will have four weekends of back-to-back home games as well as two mid-week Wednesday evening games. They will host the Ottawa 67’s for a 4 p.m. start on New Years Day, and will also host the 67’s for the Family Day game on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022.
Kingstonist will have an in depth season preview in September.
