One person taken to hospital following Sir John A Macdonald Boulevard collision

Kingston Police are advising the public to expect a prolonged closure of Sir John A Macdonald Boulevard following a serious collision that sent one person to hospital.
At approximately 9:52 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 28, 2023, the single vehicle collision occurred on Sir John A Macdonald Boulevard near the intersection with Glengarry Road. A hydro pole was toppled during the collision, leading to the need for Utilities Kingston to attend the scene alongside Kingston Police, Kingston Fire and Rescue, and Frontenac Paramedic Services. Police immediately closed off the busy roadway to begin investigating.
Just before noon, police disclosed that one person was taken hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“The Traffic Safety Unit Collision Reconstructionists have attended to investigate the motor vehicle collision scene,” said Const. Ash Guthienz, Media Relations Officer for Kingston Police.
“This area of roadway is expected to be closed for an extended period of time while they conduct their investigation.”
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, if possible, throughout the day.
