OPP confirm that one person has died following a vehicle collision into a house just south of Greater Napanee.
Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 emergency services responded to the 1800 block of County Road 9 in Lennox and Addington (L&A) County following a report that a vehicle had collided with a house.
On scene, responders found that a tow truck carrying a van had collided with the house, with the truck completely entering the home and seriously compromising its structural integrity.
Several of the home’s occupants were temporarily trapped as the collision destroyed stairs leading to the second floor of the home, where the occupants were at the time of the collision. Collision investigators are currently on scene and police have closed County Rd 9 to traffic between Abrams and Fitchett Roads while the investigation into the cause of the crash continues. While the length of the closure is not known at this time, police request that everyone avoid the area until the road is reopened.
OPP are not providing any further information at this time pending conclusion of their investigation and notification of the victim’s family.
