One arrested after OPP execute drug search warrant in Battersea

One man is facing multiple drug charges after OPP teams executed a drug search warrant on Hideaway Lane in Battersea.

On Friday, Jun. 17, 2022, the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, UCRT and the OPP Clandestine Laboratory Investigative Response Team (CLIRT) executed the search warrant at the residence in Battersea.

Assisting the OPP on scene were the Ontario Fire Marshal, South Frontenac Fire Department, and the Frontenac Paramedics.

According to a release from the OPP, one person has been charged with drug offences in connection to this incident.  

As a result of the investigation, Daniel Larry Wood, aged 42 of Battersea, has been charged with the following:

  • Produce a schedule I substance- methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Traffic in schedule I substance – methamphetamine (Crystal Meth)

Wood has been remanded into custody, and the residence has been cleared of any potentially harmful substances and is of no danger to the community, OPP said.
