The Downtown Kingston Business Improvement Area (BIA) is inviting non-profit community groups in Kingston to participate in the upcoming Princess Street Promenade.

The third Promenade of 2023 is set for Saturday, Sept. 23, and, according to a release from the BIA it “promises to be an unforgettable day filled with fun activities, live music, giveaways, free samples, community engagement, and the best shopping of the year.”

“This is a golden chance for your organization, whether you’re focused on Animal Welfare, Arts and Music, Social Services, Cultural initiatives, Environmental causes, Health and Wellness, or Community Development. Whatever the cause, it’s an incredible opportunity to connect with our community, spreading the word about your mission, showcasing your work and building meaningful relationships,” shared Clarissa Ferraz, Events Assistant at the Downtown Kingston BIA.

In the release, the BIA noted that fundraising activities by community groups are not permitted during the event. Instead, community groups are encouraged to bring informational materials to share with event attendees and to find creative ways to engage them.

Over 120 businesses and community groups took part in the most recent Promenade, according to the release. The BIA said that space is limited, and organizations are asked to register online to secure a spot, or visit the Promenade webpage

The deadline to register is Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, and the fall Promenade will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023.
