Nominations now open for 26th annual Business Excellence Awards

Nominations are now open for The 2022 Business Excellence Awards, celebrating the best of Kingston businesses. With new nomination categories this year, the awards aim to recognize Kingston business community members who have made exceptional contributions through their involvement and leadership in the community.

Organized by the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, with support from title sponsor MNP, the Business Excellence Awards ceremony will take place Thursday, Sep. 22, 2022, and nominations are open until Friday, Jun. 24, 2022.

“We’re excited to be marking the 26th anniversary of these awards in-person and with three new categories,” said Karen Cross, Chamber CEO. “There is much to celebrate as we recognize the resilience, innovation, and excellence of our business community.”

According to a release from the Chamber, this year’s awards span nine categories, including:

  • Arts and Culture (*New)
  • Business Person of the Year
  • Customer Experience (*New)
  • Employer of the Year (*New)
  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • New Business of the Year
  • Skilled Trades
  • Social Impact
  • Young Entrepreneur

Anyone may nominate a Kingston-based business, and any Kingston-based business can be nominated – Chamber membership is not a requirement. Full nomination rules and tips from the judging committee, along with past winners, are available on the Business Excellence awards website.

The Business Excellence Awards are the pinnacle event of the Kingston business calendar, according to the release. This year, the awards ceremony returns for an in-person reception, on Thursday, Sep. 22, 2022, at The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts.
