Noise complaint in Deseronto leads to impaired driving charges

After responding to a noise complaint in Deseronto in the early morning hours, members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired driving.
Just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, officers responded to the noise complaint, and a male was located operating an ATV. According to a release from the OPP, as part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result, Ahtonwa Doreen, 26 years old, of Tyendinaga First Nation, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Doreen was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on later this month. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Doreen will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
