Kingston Police investigating downtown stabbing

Police are currently investigating an assault that occurred near Princess and Division Streets on the morning of Wednesday, May 1, 2019, and the suspect remains at large, according to Kingston Police.
The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. that day, when the male victim was stabbed, causing significant injury. There was a large police and paramedic presence in the area, and a number of police vehicles in the parking lot of the Metro grocery store located on the corner of Princess and Barrie Streets. The victim was transported to hospital by Frontenac Paramedics, and is expected to recover, according to Const. Ashley Gutheinz, media relations officer for Kingston Police.
The suspect in the crime is still outstanding. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the violent assault is asked to contact Det.
