Those looking to receive support for their artistic endeavours are in luck. The Kingston Arts Council has opened up applications for the Resiliency Grant. The Resiliency Grant is a new funding program supported by the 2021 Kingston Arts Council.
“Kingston City Council allocated $200,000 in one-time funding to support individual artists and non-profit arts organizations in recognition of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the City stated in a news release on Tuesday, Apr. 6, 2021.
The release goes on to say that the funding is in addition to the usual contribution from the City.
“Resiliency Grants will support individual professional artists to continue to work and work safely in their artistic practice,” the City added in the release. “Individual professional artists of any discipline can apply for a grant of $1,000 or $2,000.”
There are three grant intake periods the first opening April 6, 2021 and ending May 4, 2021, the second opening June 1, 2021 and ending June 29, 2021 and the last opening October 5, 2021 and ending November 2, 2021.
In addition to the Resiliency Grant, there will be an additional great up for grabs as the Kingston Arts Council will launch the Adapt Grant with applications made through the Kingston Arts Council website. The grants range in amount from $4,000 to $10,000.
