Napanee resident arrested after firearms incident in Picton

A Napanee resident has been arrested and charged after members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a reported incident involving a firearm in Picton.

According to a release from the OPP, shortly after 12 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2024, officers were called to a convenience store on Paul Street in Picton, where a man was reported to be outside with a gun.

Police said that officers located the male, arrested him and found a replica firearm which looked like a handgun.

Stephen Beaudrie, age 38 of Napanee, has been charged with:

  • Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Three counts of failure to comply with a probation order

Beaudrie was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton later this month.
