Napanee man arrested in connection with drug trafficking

An investigation into possible drug trafficking in Lennox and Addington (L&A) County has resulted in the arrest of one man who is now facing multiple charges.
According to the L&A County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the L&A OPP Community Street Crime Unit began the investigation in January 2023. As the investigation unfolded, police were able to secure a search warrant. That warrant was executed at an address on Dundas Street West in Napanee on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, when police located “nearly 1.5 grams of suspected fentanyl, as well as drug paraphernalia, and recovered stolen property,” all of which were seized, along with a quantity of cash, the OPP said in a press release on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.
As a result, Timothy McArthur, 36, of Napanee, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime valued at under $5,000
- Possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
McArthur was released from custody, according to police, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in April 2023.
