Napanee driver charged after refusing to provide breath sample

Members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a local driver with refusing to comply with a breath demand.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 30, 2022, officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Belleville Road in Napanee. According to a release from the OPP, officers attended the location and spoke with the driver, who was subsequently arrested and transported to L&A County Detachment for further testing.
Jordan Carty, 32 years old, of Greater Napanee, Ontario, was charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
Carty was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee later this month. Their license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Carty will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
