Multiple reports of erratic driving on Highway 401 lead to arrest

A North York driver is facing an impaired driving charge after members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to multiple traffic complaints on Highway 401.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 26, 2023, officers located the vehicle that had been reported as driving erratically on Highway 401 eastbound near Napanee. According to a release from the OPP, officers conducted a traffic stop, and, as a result of an investigation, the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer.
Patricio Langit, 50 years old, of North York, Ontario, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Langit was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in May 2023. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Langit will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
