Downtown Kingston! has announced the return of Movies in the Square. Every Thursday, beginning August 12, 2021, families can bring their lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening in Springer Market Square.

Projected on a large inflatable screen, this year’s lineup of cult favourites and instant classics is sure to put a smile on your face, Downtown Kingston! said in a media release. Movies will begin at dusk, typically after 8:30 pm for the mid-August showings and closer to 8:00 pm from late-August through September. All movies are free – get there early, wear your mask, and sit back and enjoy the following:

  • August 12:  The Pursuit of Happyness
  • August 19:   Matilda
  • August 26:   Coco
  • Sept. 2:        Madagascar
  • Sept. 9:        Mamma Mia!
  • Sept. 16:      Clueless

Movies in the Square is produced by the Downtown Kingston! BIA, an association comprised of, and funded by, 700+ downtown businesses. The association is dedicated to the maintenance and promotion of a vibrant and healthy downtown
