A two-vehicle collision on County Road 6 resulted in serious injuries for a motorcycle driver.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jun. 28, 2024, members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on County Road 6 near Simmons Road in Loyalist Township, according to a media release from the OPP.

“The driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured,” OPP stated.

In response to Kingstonist inquiries, OPP confirmed that County Road 6 was closed for a short time between Maple Road and Fred Brown Road for the investigation.

“I can also confirm that our records indicate that the driver charged is not local to Lennox and Addington County, however I am not able to confirm if the driver of the motorcycle is or is not,” Constable Brianna Raison, Community Safety/Media Relations Officer for the L&A OPP told Kingstonist in an email.

Raison also shared that she did not have access to the full report to share details on the circumstances of the collision.

As a result of an investigation, the driver of the pickup truck was charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway.
