LOCATED: OPP seeking assistance to locate missing Napanee man

Update: On the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, OPP confirmed that Simpson was located, deceased.

“No foul play is suspected, and the death is believed to be non-suspicious. A post-mortem will be held in the near future,” OPP said.

“The L&A County OPP would like to thank the public, friends, family and community partners for their assistance. Our deepest condolences to Laurie’s family and friends.”

The OPP also said that anyone affected by Laurie’s death can reach Hastings, Prince Edward, Lennox and Addington Counties Victim Services at 613-771-1767.

Original: Officers of the Lennox & Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance to locate a missing 63-year-old male from Napanee.

“Laurie Simpson was last seen on December 24, 2022, around 6:00 p.m., in the area of Galt Street in Napanee,” OPP said in the alert.

Simpson is described by OPP as a white male, approximately 5’10” (178cm) tall, with a large build, with grey hair and blue eyes.

OPP say was last seen wearing a brown work coat, green John Deere toque, and black work pants before exiting his residence to perform several farm chores.

Any person having contact with this individual or with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the L&A County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
