Update: Missing person located deceased — OPP looking for missing person

Update (Tuesday, Jul. 14, 2020): According to the Lennox and Addington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), a body was located in a body of water near the residence on Tuesday, Jul. 14, 2020. The body was confirmed to be that of Heinz Wittenborn, 82. The L&A County OPP would like to thank members of the public for providing tips and information on missing person.

OPP are looking for the public’s assistance in locating an 82-year-old man, missing from Tyendinaga Township.

On Jul. 13 2020, officers with the Lennox and Addington Ontario Provincial Police, the Emergency Response Team and Canine responded to the report of a missing male in the area of Hinchey Road, in Tyendinaga Township.

Heinz Wittenborn is believed to have left his residence at approximately 3:00 P.M. and has not returned. He is described as fit, approximately 5’11” tall, with white hair which is thinning on top, and a white beard.

He was last observed wearing blue jeans when he left his residence. OPP say Wittenborn often walks the trails in the area.
