After three weeks of voting, and a downtown tour by the judges, Minotaur Games and Gifts, located at 78 Princess Street, has been declared the winner of the Downtown Kingston! Window Winter Wonderland competition.

In a release from Downtown Kingston! (DK!) dated Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, Marilyn Doherty from DK! stated that this year’s Window Wonderland competition was extremely close. “All the participating windows were just too merry and too loved that selecting one winner was extremely difficult. I am happy to say that after 268 votes were cast online and judges walked around, a decision was made.”

Minotaur announced their win on their Facebook page on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, saying, “We are so happy to have won this year’s Winter Wonderland window. A big thanks to everyone who voted for us, to Downtown Kingston! for organizing the event and to Clelia Scala whose beautiful window won us the prize! Thanks also to Chris Miner who took these great photos.”

According to the release, an online voter shared this sentiment: “There really isn’t a time Minotaur doesn’t have an awesome front display, Christmas is no exception!”

DK! went to on to say, “Minotaur really outdid themselves this year with a magical and creative window. Their unique theme screams Happy Howlidays! A big thank you to Clelia Scala, the local artist who designed the window!”

With the holidays nearly here, Downtown Kingston! suggests taking the time to enjoy all the beautiful holiday windows next time you are downtown. According to the release, the staff of downtown businesses have worked so hard to make it a safe and merry place, and they have really outdone themselves this year.

The Downtown Kingston! BIA is an association comprised of, and funded by, 700+ downtown businesses. The association is dedicated to the maintenance and promotion of a vibrant and healthy downtown.
